I think I'll probably have to pull down the saves again and start fresh (not like I've lost much) to get some decent loot from enemies. Places where I was killed, the enemies didn't spawn the next go. Later that attempt I didn't think to go back and save (I'm still wholely in the normal game by this point) and now I've gone back there to try and recollect them, they didn't actually appear for me. Yeah, I noticed those before (one of them nearly got me, quick reflexes are the only reason I was still alive there). Then you'll have at least 1-2 mines left that you can drop to take care of a few enemies at Scollay's Station. Best have another mine laying down as well, a good 15 - 20 feet back from the door, as a "safety" mine in case the first one doesn't kill them all. If you deactivate them and pick them up, you can sneak up to the door and toss one just inside of it, then get the ghouls attention and run like hell. Stealthing past everything else was a massive pain, so I decided not to go there again.Down that hallway, towards the end (opposite side of the red door with the ghouls) are 3 active landmines. Got destroyed (by said ghouls.) and started back at the first bed. Actually pretty glad I didn't sleep to save once in there. Going to have to get creative to take him out, but I want that power armor! One was in power armor with a freaking minigun. I ran into some nasty survivors at the end of my exploration of the state house. I'm assuming I can make omelettes with those plus dirty water, which should keep me well fed for a very long time! Had to go to bed before finishing up the area though. I ended up exploring the Massachusetts State House, found a bunch of Mutcrabs and an irradiated skull level bear that scared the crap out of me and had ridiculous health.
Collected everything useful and stored it up near the exit to Boston Commons so that it's all handy for me later. Filled like 60 empty bottles with dirty water, brought it all back down to a cooking station and purified it, made more bandages, some radaway, etc. I exited into Boston Commons and found a pool of water there. The guys upstairs I lured into mines that I picked up from a different area. Got a nice lever action rifle and some decent armor, then ran like hell and kited them while chucking molotovs at them and letting them burn to death. Used the stealth boy that I found in the duffel bag right as you enter and got off two stealth kills before the other 3-4 there noticed me. How many tries did it take you to clear out the beginning of Scollay station lol? I had to get pretty inventive there. I don't usually play stealth characters, but in this I feel like it's essential. The difficulty really ramps up, that's for sure! Stealth is absolutely a necessity at the beginning, which I like the idea of.I agree.
